Created in partnership with the NHS and the UK's Department of Health, The Walk is an app that encourages you to walk more each day. When you engage with The Walk, every step you take counts towards your progress.

The story begins with a bomb exploding in Inverness station and you receiving a package that holds the key to saving the world. To stay alive, you must embark on a journey to walk the length of the UK. The Walk offers more than just a pedometer or step counter - it transforms walking into a thrilling adventure and an exciting challenge.

Developed by Six to Start and Naomi Alderman, creators of the highly popular running game Zombies, Run!, The Walk has received praise from various sources:

Notable features of The Walk include its ability to track your walks and runs, as well as map them. Simply place your phone in your pocket or purse, and the app will take care of everything.

The captivating story behind The Walk involves evading capture by police and enemy agents as you make your way across the UK. Can you uncover who was behind the initial bomb explosion and unravel their master plan? Prepare for an epic adventure spanning 65 thrilling episodes, 800 minutes of audio, and hundreds of miles.

In addition to an engaging storyline, The Walk offers motivating gameplay. By increasing your walking distance, you can collect clues, scan for information, and unlock achievements.

The Walk is adaptable to individual fitness levels, adjusting its difficulty accordingly. It recognizes that everyone is unique and strives to provide the right level of challenge for each user.

The app includes the first five episodes and challenges for free. Unlock the remaining 60 episodes by subscribing to the Abel Runner's Club.

Monthly and yearly subscription options are available, priced at $5.99 USD/month or $34.99 USD/year respectively. Subscriptions will be billed to your iTunes account after you confirm the purchase.

Unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subscriptions will automatically renew. To manage your subscription and disable auto-renewal, visit your iTunes Account Settings. Please note that cancellation of the active subscription period is not allowed.

System requirements for The Walk include iOS 10.3 or later. The app integrates with the Health app via Healthkit to read and track your steps and movement data, ensuring seamless progress tracking in the game.

It is worth noting that continued use of GPS running in the background can significantly affect battery life. However, The Walk carefully utilizes your phone's accelerometer for movement measurement and primarily relies on wifi and cell towers for location tracking, minimizing battery impact.
